Hudson River Shipbuilding
The Hudson River has long been home to shipbuilders. Since Adriaen Block first rebuilt the Tyger into the Onrust in New York Bay in 1614 all the way up to today!
As part of the RiverWise project, the Hudson River Maritime Museum will be creating a series of documentary films about Hudson River Shipbuilding, past, present, and future. We are fundraising to support these documentary films. Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated.
We'll be sharing more stories of shipbuilding on the Hudson River in the upcoming weeks, but in the meantime enjoy these films and articles below.

Our Wooden Boat School and Restoration crew have built and restored several vessels, including the Clearwater, Woody Guthrie, and Solaris. You can learn more about the final stage of restoration for the Clearwater in this great film by Jon Bowermaster.
